Respond!'s goal is to create continuing and self-supporting communities who are linked to the wider community which they are a part of, while they foster the growth of the individual resident.
Respond!'s Community Development Plan aims to:- help and support residents in accessing community services
- develop activities for those who are most disadvantaged
- work together with different agencies to deliver services on estates in either partnership or in a multi agency approach
- develop partnership at local level between the community sector, social partners and state agencies which will increase estate capacity
Community Development InitiativesAt present, Respond! are launching a pilot scheme on certain Respond! estates in conjunction with
MoBhaile. This project allows a platform for each Respond Community to represent themselves via the internet site and focus on community specific interests - what’s going on in the community, what social and sport networks are the members involved in etc. With the opportunity to expand into the more generic territory including: movie reviews, local sports teams news and a ‘what’s happening in the local area guide’.
