Declan Markey

Declan Markey is the Education Officer for the BSS in Housing and Community Studies. Declan recently finished a 6 month internship with Combat Poverty where he was research assistant to Jim Walsh. His work consisted of a cost of education study which examined the impact of the Free School Book Scheme on low income families and he was also assisting with research into the affects of carbon taxes on low income groups. Declan has completed the Bachelor of Social Science and the Masters in Social Policy Research in UCD. Upon completion of his masters Declan conducted research on behalf of Dr. Valerie Richardson and Prof. Suzanne Quin of UCD. Declan has also worked with a number of homeless agencies over the past six years.
