La Verna, Grange Road in Baldoyle was designed by Respond Housing Association and constructed by Wallace and Nash in 2000. The estate was supported by Fingal County Council and kindly funded by the Department of the Environment, Community and Local Government. La Verna contains 40 homes for older people and those with special needs, as well as communal facilities. A day care service, funded by the Health Service Executive is provided on the estate and caters for older people living in the area. A meals on wheels programme also operate from the community building and one day a week is dedicated to working with persons with Alzheimers.
