This year 2015 marks the 20th Anniversary of the opening of Glenview, Ballyrichard, Carrick on Suir, Co. Tipperary.
The weather on August 2nd was typically wet and windy however that did not dampen the enthusiasm of the residents in Glenview on the morning of celebrations. Their positivity shone through as did the sunshine at about noon.
The community celebrated in style over 2 days on the August bank holiday weekend. Children and parents participated in traditional fun and games such as, egg and spoon race, sack races, relays and soccer blitz. The winners were awarded medals and trophies to celebrate their achievements.
Children took part in an Art Competition celebrating 20 years in Glenview. This was won by 7 year old Millie Walsh. Millie’s picture captured the true essence of the community spirit which is in Glenview. She took memories she had from previous family fun days and put them to paper in bright bold colours.
Ruth Flynn entertained children with art and crafts, and face painting. The older children enjoyed the obstacle courses and the music. The community partied into the late evening.
Many thanks to all the community who made this a day to remember, the volunteers who made this event happen through their dedicated efforts. Many thanks to Respond Housing Association who part funded this event through the community chest fund and also staff in Respond Housing Association.
