A QQI Level 5 Major award in Health Service Skills started in Millennium Court Community Building, Kilkenny on Tuesday 3rd of March.
This course is aimed at people who are either working in a health care settling or aiming to work in that area. Modules that are covered include Care of the Older Person, Care Support, Care Skills, Team Working, Infection Prevention & Control, Child Development, Family Support Skills and Work Experience.
The learners are a mixture of Respond residents and people that are working in a caring environment in the local community. The course is part funded by Carlow Kilkenny ETB and will run part time one morning a week during term time for fourteen months.
