Tiny Graduates in Tallaght Mark a Big Milestone

Respond’s Early Years Service in Tallaght honours young learners heading to ‘big school’

Thirteen very proud preschoolers donned caps and gowns this week as they graduated from Respond’s Early Learning and School Aged Care Service at Ard Mor in Tallaght.

The Respond team hosted a joyful celebration for children and their families, complete with songs, performances, and a rainbow balloon arch that provided the perfect backdrop for the festivities (and plenty of photos). While the ceremony may not have featured dissertations or mortarboards tossed in the air, it marked an important milestone in each child’s learning journey – the leap from preschool to primary school.

Lisa O’Rourke, Respond’s National Early Years Manager said:

“We’re delighted to celebrate this special day with the children and their families. Supporting young children to learn, grow and thrive is at the heart of everything we do, and moments like this remind us just how meaningful that work is.”

Throughout the academic year, 22 children attended the Ard Mor Early Years Service. Nine of them will return in September for their second year under the ECCE scheme, while 13 will begin their next adventure in primary schools across the Tallaght area.

The Early Learning and School Aged Care facility provides a space for children to foster friendships and creating a safe space, allowing children to grow as young individuals.

Lisa O’Rourke, continued,

“At Respond, we believe every child deserves a safe and nurturing space where they can discover their own magic. These services are designed not just to support children, but to strengthen the communities they live in. We wish all our graduates the very best in this next chapter.”
