As part of the Toy Show Appeal, we received funding to provide Welcome packs for newborn children. We provide essential items for both the parent and child (Clothing, Toiletries, cribs, etc.). It is common to lose possessions when experiencing homelessness and fleeing domestic violence, so we must equip pregnant people with essential items to help them care for themselves and their new babies.
With the support of the ESB Electricity for Generations fund we will install outdoor gym equipment at our Johns College service. It will allow our clients who are from a diverse range of backgrounds (elderly, young families, and asylum seekers)to build an exercise routine and stay healthy.
The Smurfit Kappa Foundation supported us in introducing The Tovertafel and Able Tables to our 3 Day Care for Older People Services. Tovertafel (“magic table” in Dutch) is a games system that stimulates people living with cognitive challenges. By projecting interactive games and vibrant images onto the wheelchair accessible Able Table. Tovertafel engages players with games that respond to their movements. Scientific research suggests that they positively impact the quality of life of those with dementia.

This Christmas, Children’s Books Ireland is gifting over €14,000 worth of brand-new books to the children who need it most.
ESIF supported 2 projects in Distillery View ELSAC service in Limerick.
The sensory room in Distillery View was upgraded and sensory equipment was purchased for the outdoor area.
Growell Healthy Eating and Gardening initiative. We established a garden on site where kids where kids learn about plants, sustainability, and food origins. There is weekly cooking classes to learn how to make nutritious meals and snacks with the fresh produce. This was designed in response to poor adherence with the healthy lunchbox policy.
