Respond has been an active Erasmus+ participant since 2023.
The funding allows us to send staff on training courses abroad; it is a valuable opportunity to access new and innovative courses that may not be available in Ireland.
Staff can also job shadow a mentor in a similar organisation. It is an opportunity to see different approaches and learn from what works well in other organisations.
Lastly Respond has invited experts from Europe to facilitate internal training.
We are an accredited organisation in Adult Education KA121. During our accreditation, we aim to achieve the following:
Our Early Learning and School Aged Care team is participating in the Erasmus+ KA122 School Education Programme to enhance the quality of learning experiences for children through international professional development and collaboration.
Through mobility opportunities and partnerships with European schools and early childhood services, we aim to explore and implement innovative pedagogical approaches, particularly Reggio Emilia and Forest School practices, while promoting inclusive, child-centred, and holistic learning.
The knowledge and experience gained through this project will be shared with educators, children, families, and the wider community to support continuous improvement and strengthen outcomes for all learners.
Management from our Family Support and Homeless Services teams went on a prepatory visit to the Municipality of Herleen.
3 staff members took part in a 5 day Symbol Work and Life Design course in Spain with our partner Caminos/CIS

“I just love attending, I have a whole new group of friends that I get to see every week for the chat and banter over a coffee and then have our lunch together. The staff are so enthusiastic, making the day fun while always keeping an eye on us to make sure we are keeping well. I can talk to them, like really talk if I’m worried about something. They were in touch and visiting all through Covid, and I really appreciated that. The club gives me a reason to get up, get dressed and stick a bit of lippy on!”

“My mother never sang in her all her life. Since she started attending St Francis Gardens DayCentre she is bursting out in song all the time. We could be in a restaurant and she will start singing out of nowhere”

“I enjoy coming to St Francis Gardens Day Centre. The staff lift my spirits. I enjoy the quizzes as they keep my brain sharp. I need that as I am living alone”
