The 2015 ‘Go for Life Games’ took place on Saturday June 6th in DCU. This year over 300 older people from 24 different counties came together to participate in a day of sport and inter-county friendly rivalry.
The Waterford Team of twelve were recruited from a range of groups including Respond Housing, Dungarvan ARA, Dungarvan Care of the Aged, Waterford Stroke Support Group and Cappoquin Active Retirement following three Games blitzes run by the Waterford Sports Partnership from March to May of this year The Go For Life Games is an annual event run by Age & Opportunity to celebrate fun and social physical activity for older adults through participation in indoor bowling games.
A great day was had by all, particular credit must go to Respond residents Andy Grey, Ita Butler, Gerald Rea and Sally Walsh who did us proud.
