The UEFA European Championship kicked off on June 10th and runs for a month. The tournament is being held in France and features the continent’s top 24 national football teams. Spain have won the last two Euros – in 2008 when Austria and Switzerland co-hosted and four years later when Poland and Ukraine shared the event.
Ireland has again got into the spirit of things with green ‘jersey day’ t-shirts everywhere.
A Collaborative activity was organised in Marquis Drive, Dungarvan, Co. Waterford to celebrate. This event was supported by Family Support Worker Niamh Flavin, Community Development/RSW Caroline Haran and Childcare Workers Stacey and Louise.
The children brightened up the building with bunting and balloons, transforming the estate with green, white and gold. They also enjoyed making the flags of the participating countries and made posters for the community building.
