Earlier this year we reported that Oaktree Court Residents Association at Respond Borris, Co Carlow were busy at work keeping their gardens and the residential areas beautiful and that particular care was being taken to ensure everything is in order for the Pride of Place judging that will be taking place in July.
Last year the local residents committee were delighted to be placed joint winners of the ‘Best Green Area 2012‘ in the Pride of Place awards presented by Borris Tidy Towns and have entered this year competition with high hopes. The criteria is robust and residents are very active spending the long summer evenings, sewing flowers, planting shrubs , sweeping up, cutting grass and weeding.
Residents of Oaktree Court take great pride in the appearance of their estate. The committee of six are in operation since last year with their meetings taking place regularly at the local Oaktree Court Community hall. This small committee would like to thank all residents for their individual efforts and would encourage and welcome more residents to join the group. Oaktree resident, Ann O’Brien explains;
“It’s great to see all our hard work taking shape with all the flowers in bloom, it’s starting to look nice and colourful. It also builds a good sense of community when the neighbours come out and get involved”
Respond would like to congratulate the residents on all of their achievements to date.
