The “Whirling and Twirling” Dance Workshop held at the Mount Sion GAA Club in Waterford City was a great success with 34 people participating in this gentle fun movement and dance programme. The workshop was facilitated by Frank Fahy and Margaret O’ Keefe under the Age and Opportunity as part of their Go for Life Programme.
People are now living longer. Respond and Age & Opportunity works to provide opportunities to encourage people to live their longer lives to the full. The overall aim of Go For Life Programmes, such as this dance workshop, is to get older people more active, more often.
A large number of residents from Respond estates in Waterford, Wexford and South Tipperary were in attendance. The numbers were increased by a number of ladies from the local St Brigid’s Family Resource Centre Friday Club and a great time was had by all.
Another Dance Workshop will be held shortly in Mount Sion so make sure you keep practicing those moves at home.
