New Beginnings for 62 People as Respond Delivers 18 Lifetime Apartments in Bray

Respond, a construction-led Approved Housing Body and service provider, is welcoming new tenants to their lifetime homes at Adelaide Villas, Bray, this week. The newly completed development provides 18 high-quality, energy-efficient apartments, offering safe and secure accommodation for 62 individuals and families.

Delivered in partnership with Wicklow County Council, the homes were funded through a combination of private finance from the Housing Finance Agency and a Capital Advance Leasing Facility (CALF) loan from the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage.

Niamh Randall, spokesperson for Respond, welcomed the collaborative effort involved in bringing this project to fruition:

“Adelaide Villas is not just about building homes—it’s about providing long-term housing options that help people put down roots and build a future. The partnership with Wicklow County Council has been key to delivering this development and we are very grateful for the continued support of our funding partners, including the Department of Housing, the Housing Finance Agency, and The Housing Agency.

“From the moment tenants move in, our Tenant Experience team is there to offer support, answer questions, and help people feel at home. We want every tenant to feel welcomed and connected—not just to their new home, but to their wider community. As the development grows into a community, we’ll continue to work closely with tenants to shape the services we offer around their specific needs and aspirations.”

The mix of units includes one three-bedroom apartment, four one-bedroom apartments, three two-bedroom apartments designed for three people, and 10 larger two-bedroom units for four people. All homes are BER A2-rated, ensuring high energy performance and lower energy bills for tenants.

Adelaide Villas is ideally located within 1.2km of Bray Dart Station and is well-served by the 45A and E1 bus routes. The town offers excellent connectivity to Dublin, with direct Dart access to Connolly Station in under an hour. Local amenities include Bray Seafront, an array of restaurants and cafes, and recreational spaces such as the nearby People’s Park. Educational and community facilities are also close by, including Bray Institute of Further Education and St Patrick’s Girls’ National School, both within a 15-minute walk.

Respond said new tenants would receive ongoing support from its dedicated Tenant Experience team, who help residents settle into their new homes and access any supports they may need.

The organisation, which has been delivering housing and services across Ireland for more than 40 years, now provides homes to over 18,000 people in more than 8,100 properties. It currently has a further 3,463 social and cost rental homes under construction nationwide.

Niamh Randall added:

“With more than 82% of our delivery now construction-led, Respond continues to manage quality and cost through our in-house expertise. We remain committed to working with the Government and partners to provide the homes and services that enable families and communities to flourish.”

The new development in Bray is part of Respond’s expanding national programme aimed at addressing Ireland’s ongoing housing need.
