A group of Respond employees and friends ran the quarter and half Waterford Viking Marathon on the 28th June, all proceeds raised through sponsorship are going to support children and families attending Respond Ard an Ghleanna Childcare Service in Tramore.

Ard an Ghleanna, Community Centre, Tramore, Waterford
Respond Ard an Ghleanna, Tramore is a full-day Childcare Centre : The pre-school caters for children 2yrs 10mths – 5 yrs. It opens Monday to Friday 8.50 – 12.30pm and provides ECCE (Free pre-school year) CCS (Community Childcare Subvention) and CETS (Community Employment Training) schemes all funded by the OMCYA. Pre-school work on a play based curriculum which links to Siolta and Aistear. The after-school caters for children 6-12yrs and opens Monday to Friday 2.00- 5.45pm. The after-school provide the children with assistance in their homework when they arrive and fun activities and a nutritional snack. The children are provided with a quality, secure environment by qualified staff in which they can thrive.
True Colours Play
A new Play Therapy Support Service for children is based in Ard an Ghleanna. Play is a child’s way of communicating and Play Therapy can help a child understand mixed up feelings and to develop a more positive self-image. Play Therapist Caroline Hennessy is professionally trained to use play therapeutically and in an ethically sound way. Play Therapy is open for the whole community.
