Hilltop Childcare Service operates a part time Pre-school and Part time After-school from our Respond community building in Highfield Killenaule. HighScope is a quality approach to early childhood care and education which has been shaped and developed by research and practice over a forty year period. Staff at Hilltop Childcare who have completed High Scope Training are busy implementing their learning into the daily routines and have now received certificates by the course tutor Imelda Madigan High Scope Advisor.
The HighScope curriculum is used internationally in a variety of settings including day care, créches, playgroups, nursery and primary schools. It identifies and builds on children’s strengths, interests and abilities, the central belief of the HighScope approach is that children construct their own learning by doing and being involved in working with materials, people and ideas. High Scope enhances the framework of Siolta and Aistear and the approach that was always adopted in Hilltop Childcare Service. Special Thanks to the Tony Ryan Trust with the aim of supporting children and young people in Tipperary to reach their full potential. Through the Community Foundation of Ireland Highscope training was provided to childcare workers across County Tipperary. Our experience in Hilltop is that Highscope training has enhanced our service to enable each child to develop and grow as a confident competent learner ready to meet life challenges.
