Respond, a construction-led Approved Housing Body and service provider, is welcoming new tenants to their lifetime homes at Carrigrohane Apartments, Riverside Way, Cork, this week. The newly completed development provides 48 high-quality, energy-efficient apartments, offering safe and secure accommodation for 110 individuals and families.

Delivered in partnership with Cork City Council, the homes were funded through a combination of private finance from the Housing Finance Agency and a Capital Advance Leasing Facility (CALF) loan from the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage.

Aoife Watters, Respond CEO, warmly welcomed the collaborative effort involved in bringing this project to life:

“Riverside Way is not just about building homes – it’s about providing long-term housing options that help people put down roots and build a future. The partnership with Cork County Council has been key to delivering this development and we are very grateful for the continued support of our funding partners, including the Department of Housing, the Housing Finance Agency, and The Housing Agency.

“From the moment tenants move in, our Tenant Experience team is there to offer support, answer questions, and help people feel at home. We want every tenant to feel welcomed and connected – not just to their new home, but to their wider community. As the development grows into a community, we’ll continue to work closely with tenants to shape the services we offer around their specific needs and aspirations.”

All homes in this development are BER A2 rated. The development is situated just off the N22 and is serviced by the 220 and 223 bus routes into the city centre. The site is also serviced by the 201, 205 and 220X, travelling to Munster Technological University.

Catered by all local amenities, the estate is within a short distance to a Tesco, Dunnes Stores and Centre. The area is also within walking distance to Lee Fields Green Park and the Lee River.

The estate is also an 11-minute drive from Ballincollig which has a McDonalds, Aldi and local restaurants and cafes.

Aoife Watters added:

“With more than 82% of our delivery now construction-led, Respond continues to manage quality and cost through our in-house expertise. We remain committed to working with the Government and partners to provide the homes and services that enable families and communities to flourish.”

The new development in Cork is part of Respond’s expanding national programme aimed at addressing Ireland’s ongoing housing need.
